Bringing Fun and Surprise to Intimacy: Behind the Scenes of Fiesta Condoms' New Fiesta Fun Pack Campaign


Fiesta Condoms Indonesia has always strived to understand and meet the needs of its consumers. Their latest innovation, the Fiesta Fun Pack, is the result of research revealing that a pack of three condoms is too little while a pack of twelve is too much.

This new pack contains six condoms with six different flavors, perfectly balancing variety and quantity. We were thrilled to create a digital video commercial (DVC) campaign to introduce this exciting new product to the audience. Here’s a peek behind the scenes of how we brought this vibrant and playful concept to life.


The Idea: From Client to Agency

Client Brief:

Fiesta Condoms Indonesia wanted a campaign that would resonate with young couples, emphasizing surprise and delight in their intimate moments. The key message was to highlight the fun of discovering different flavors within the new Fiesta Fun Pack.

TXT Agency Concept

TXT Creative as the agency had a clear vision: they wanted to highlight the joy and surprise of discovering new flavors. The idea was to create a campaign centered around the theme of ‘Surprise,’ showcasing couples delighting each other in unexpected ways. The goal was to feature six couples, each selecting a different condom variant from the Fiesta Fun Pack. To make the narrative flow seamlessly, it was decided to split the campaign into three 15-second videos, each highlighting different couples and their unique surprises. Additionally, we planned to combine these into one comprehensive 90-second video to tell the full story.


Production Company: Turning Ideas into Reality

Idea Execution:

We started by fleshing out the concept with detailed storyboards and mood boards. This helped visualize the narrative flow and the overall feel of the commercial.

Storyboard and Mood Board:

The storyboard illustrated each scene, from the couples’ playful interactions to the moments of surprise when the condoms are revealed. The mood board emphasized warm, vibrant colors to evoke feelings of happiness and excitement.

Location Scouting:

Location Scouting: For the locations, we aimed to find settings that would enhance the element of surprise in each couple's story.

  • Amusement Park: We secured Jungleland Sentul, an amusement park that we could close off to visitors, creating a private, magical experience for one couple, showcasing the surprise of having the entire park to themselves.

  • Hill with City Lights: For the second story, we headed to Squidcamp in Bogor, perched on top of a hill with a breathtaking view of the city. The journey to Squidcamp was quite the adventure, with its cross-country, hard-to-access route. Despite the challenging trek, the stunning city view made it all worthwhile. This location was perfect for our gaming and streaming couple, adding a spontaneous twist to their relationship.

  • Apartment Set: Lastly at Hadua Studio in Jatipadang, we built a custom set resembling a cozy apartment for a gaming and streaming couple, reflecting their everyday environment and highlighting the spontaneity in their relationship.

To better visualize the storyboard in the real location, we usually make a dummy video or recce video during our location scouts. This helps us align our creative vision with the actual environment and make necessary adjustments ahead of the shoot.

Wardrobe and Styling:

The wardrobe was casual and trendy, reflecting the youthful and relaxed vibe of our characters. We opted for comfortable yet stylish outfits that any young couple might wear at home.

Casting the Talent: Bringing Authenticity to the Screen

Choosing the right actors was crucial to making the commercial feel genuine and relatable. We held extensive casting sessions to find six couples who naturally exuded chemistry and playfulness. Each couple brought their own unique charm to the campaign. we ended up changing a few talent after the workshop to get the best chemistry for the couples.


Production: Capturing the Magic

Bringing the Story to Life

Shooting day was buzzing with excitement. The set was alive with activity as we prepared to capture the magic of the Fiesta Fun Pack.

The travel between locations was quite the journey, with considerable distances separating each one. From Jatipadang in South Jakarta to Jungleland Sentul and finally to Squidcamp Bogor, the logistical challenge was quite challenging. However, the diversity of settings was essential to the narrative, and each location added its unique charm to the story.

Each location was meticulously arranged to suit the story but at the same time comply to the budget restriction. As the director, I worked closely with the actors to ensure their chemistry felt authentic. We aimed to capture moments of laughter, surprise, and intimacy that would bring the story to life.

Filming techniques played a big role in keeping the visuals engaging. We used dynamic camera angles and holi powder transitions that match the product key visual, making the commercial even more exciting.


Post-Production: Polishing the Final Product

Editing

As the offline editor, I focused on creating a dynamic and engaging pace. Quick cuts and playful transitions kept the energy high, mirroring the fun and spontaneity of the couples’ experiences. NLE used for offline editing was Davinci Resolve.

Color Grading

For color grading, we chose to work with Klover Colour Studio, a decision that proved to be invaluable. Yulia, the talented owner and colorist, brought her expertise and creative vision to the project. I’ve collaborated with Yulia and Klover on several other projects, including Pondok Indah Residence, Piala By U, Dji Sam Soe, and Tokopedia. Her ability to create a well balanced color was crucial in enhancing the visuals and capturing the joyful atmosphere of the campaign.

VFX:

Subtle visual effects were added to emphasize the story transition and the love explosions, we use the holi powder effect. this treatment is in line with the product’s key visual.

We did a lot of clean up on the image due to weather conditions, and added some motion graphics to the final image.
